Thank you very much for your interest in joining our school!
We hold 'open mornings' each autumn term for parents considering our school for Reception or Year 3 places for the following September (we are often also joined by parents looking to move their children to our school at other points in their primary school years). This is the perfect time to find out first hand about our school and talk to staff and pupils.
Surrey County Council is the admission authority for The Royal Kent School. To find up to date information about the school's admission arrangements and details on how to apply, either as part of the normal intake or during the school year, please use this link to the Surrey CC website. Detailed information about our school's admissions and allocation of places in recent years can be found here. Surrey CC have produced a booklet called 'Get ready for school', which contains lots of useful information.
In the meantime, you may also find it useful to find out about our inspection reports, recent school performance data, read our prospectus and hear what we get up to from day to day at The Royal Kent School! There is plenty of other information available on this website which will help you to decide if it it the right school for your child. If there is any further which you would like to know, please do not hesitate to contact our school office with your query.
Provisional open morning dates for September 2021 entry:
Not yet set - check back later in the academic year!
Limited spaces at each - please call or email to book a place.
In-year admissions (joining an existing year group within a school)
If you are looking to move your child to our school, it is a good idea to contact our school office first; we can tell you if there is a vacancy in the year group that you are interested in (some of our year groups are full). You can also arrange to come and visit the school. If the year group that you wish to join is full, you can join the waiting list (again, this is entirely managed by Surrey CC).

Admissions for Year 3 entry (for September entry)
We take two additional pupils in to our Year 3 class each September, as our capacity in Key Stage 2 is slightly higher than in Key Stage 1. If you are interested in applying for one of these places for your child, please join us for one of our Reception open mornings, and let us know that the year group you are interested in is Year 3. Again, all admissions for Year 3 entry is handled by Surrey CC.
Admissions for Reception entry (for September entry)
If you are interested in your child joining our Reception class for the next school year, you can visit our school during one of our open mornings in the autumn term. Please contact the school office if you wish to book a space on one of these mornings.
